A FILIPINO national was discharged not amounting to acquittal by the Magistrates’ Court yesterday after prosecution indicated that there was another suspect in the theft case.
The defendant, Mariano Samonte, 47, was accused of stealing money amounting to $1,000 from the Rentokil Initial Sdn Bhd between May to December 2010.
During the proceedings yesterday, the senior magistrate reminded Mariano that while the case has been withdrawn, the defendant can still be brought back to court if there are sufficient grounds. - Syazwan Sadikin
