Former US Deputy Secretary Of Treasury Visits Singapore As 41st Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow


SINGAPORE, Jan 7 -- Former US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Neal S Wolin is visiting Singapore from Tuesday to Friday as the 41st Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, having served from May 2009 to August 2013, Wolin is the longest-serving Deputy Secretary in the US Department of the Treasury's history.

Apart from making courtesy calls on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and several other ministers, Wolin will also be speaking at a closed-door session on the medium-term growth prospects for the US economy at the Singapore Management University.

Established in 1991, the Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship programme invites outstanding individuals for high-level exchange visits to Singapore.

The Fellows are chosen on the basis of their proven track records or extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations, as well as to promote international understanding and goodwill.
